Competition Alert: Pratt Contemporaries Fiction Storyteller Award

If you're wondering why I am writing about this particular competition and not all the other millions out there, it's because I worked at the Enoch Pratt Free Library for a short time while living in Baltimore and was a regular reader of the Baltimore-based Urbanite magazine. I have developed a lot of respect for both the library and magazine. The opportunity to be published in a magazine like Urbanite should not be ignored.

Enoch Pratt Free Library and Urbanite are pleased to invite you to submit a short story for the Enoch Pratt Free Library's 2011 Pratt Contemporaries Fiction Storyteller Award. The writing competition was created to promote the work of Maryland writers and to positively impact the lives of these artists as they build their careers. The first place winner will be published in the August 2011 issue of Urbanite magazine.

Click here to find out more about the competition. The deadline for entry is June 15, 2011.
