24 Books for 2011

It is embarrassing to admit that I completely forgot about this challenge. I can't say what exactly reminded me about my challenge to read 24 books in 2011, but, I'm not giving up so easy. Even though it's November and I'm nowhere near 24. Read the following list so see what I've have already read outside of the books at work (in education publishing where I work).

1.    Eat That Frog (practical & useful)
2.    The 48 Laws of Power (insightful)
3.    The Hills of Hebron
4.    If Love's So Nice... Why Does it Hurt?
5.    The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks (good)
6.    Decision Points
7.    The Knotty Truth: Creating Beautiful Locks on a Dime
8.    Bossypants (fun)
9.    Go the Fok to Sleep
10.  Usain Bolt 9.58
11.  No Stone Unturned (I love)
I'm not quite so bad, huh? I might be able to make it to 24 by December 31, 2011 after all. Keep track or follow on twitter or facebook @bookblogette for the continued list of books I am reading and the resulting reviews.

  1. I have the 48 Laws of Power. I started reading it but something about that book just rubbed me the wrong way. I've added The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks to my TBR list. I've only heard good things about it. I just reviewed Decision Points and it turned out to be one of the best books I've ever read. I've thought about picking up Bossypants but I'm not sold on it yet. I'm going to check out the rest of the books on your list!

  3. Hi Shannon,
There are definitely some parts of the book that I am not loving but it was interesting to see how people think. I don't think one has to employ all the laws but it helps to know how people we have to work and live with approach life sometimes. It's like getting into the mind of your Chess opponent. OK. I feel a review coming on.

    Hey DM,

I'm surely going to try. I plant o do quite a bit of reading and blogging next week.
