The 16th Edition of the Chicago Manual of Style

The 16th Edition of The Chicago Manual of Style has entered the bookshops. Complete with a colour makeover, the new edition has been enhanced to include "state-of-the-art recommendations on editorial style" that speak to the "digital age".

See What's New in the 16th Edition.

Having shared that information, it's time for me to be true to myself and you, the reader. The changes in the new edition, though fantastic, do not mean that the older editions are completely useless. If you are a student on an already cripplingly small budget, now is a great time to get an old edition if you so desire. My eyes nearly fell out of my face and rolled onto my desk when I saw that older editions could be purchased on amazon.com for as little as $2.38 plus shipping. Yup, that is for the price for the 14th edition and it's used. When you're broke, who cares? You may very well be able to Google everything else in two months anyway. Don't hate me Booksellers. I'm just saying. You know it is?

  1. I use this on a daily basis as a referene when writing, editing and participating in design reviews. It's really helpful when you need quick answers and the index is pretty user-friendly. http://naturallivingguide.blogspot.com
